Dallas Metropolitan Club

of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc.

Mission

Our mission is to promote and protect the interests of African American business and professional women; to serve as a bridge for young people seeking to enter business and the professions; to improve the quality of life in the local and global communities; and to foster good fellowship.

Program Areas

The National program focus is (LETS) Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Service (which includes Health, Education, Employment, and Economic Development).  Clubs identify local needs and implement projects to address the issues in their communities.

Our Club History

During the decade of the 60’s, about the latter part of 1963, the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. began an expansion program.  Under the leadership of the national President, Mrs. Florence Allen Holmes, contact was made in Dallas, Texas and a group of women in related fields were called together by Mrs. Dickie Foster.  Information concerning this organization was shared with several women in the community and the decision was made to contact others for an official meeting to be held in the home of Mrs. Jewel Y. Lott, who was a member of the South Central Business and Professional Women’s Club.  This meeting ended with a decision to organize a group.
